The meeting opened with a video on fire safety from the Church Mutual Insurance Company.

Finance - Dan C. reported we are still generally on-target with our expenses and income. He asked for clarification with regard to memorial funds. After some discussion, it was moved and approved that the balance in memorial funds going forward is $2,895.

Brief follow-up on the school supply collection. $524 was collected in the community; we have to-date matched about $20 in additional money.

Leonard G. reported the stewardship campaign will be 10/31, 11/7 and 11/14. Pledge cards will be kept secret this year and returned to each person at the end of the year. Quarterly reports of giving will be sent to each person who turns in a pledge card as well as a year-end statement.

Trustees - Linda W. followed up on the fire safety video listing the following as needing our attention: exit signs, fire extinguishers need charging, bulleting board in Fellowship hall is blocking an exit, furnace needs to be inspected, breaker panel access needs to be cleared, steps to Fellowship hall need to be repainted with bright striping, GFCI outlets need to be installed in the kitchen (Leonard G. will do), smoke alarms need to be installed, and inventory video needs to be made (Amy and Linda W. to work on this.)

Jennifer P. noted that with five people living at the parsonage and upwards of 40 people now attending Joyful Noise on Wednesday nights, the trash is too much for a single pickup. It was moved and approved to add trash service to the church.

WON Team - Amy W. reported on numerous dates for holiday happenings as follows:
¨ Sunday, November 21, All Parish Soup Supper, 5 p.m. at the church
¨ Saturday, November 27, Hanging of the Greens in the morning at the church (Bill J's chili for lunch!)
¨ Saturday, December 4, Holiday Bazaar -- need pies and grab bags
¨ Saturday, December 5, Charge Conference in Cortez
¨ Wednesday, December 8, Christmas Dinner, 6 p.m. at the church

Connie G., Barb C., and Phyllis J. volunteered to be "food folks" for October, November and December.

Jean B., Connie G., Jennifer and Craig P., and Amy W. will serve on a worship team to plan our holiday services.

Phyllis J. and Linda W. need newsletter contributions by October 30.

Dee B. reported she needs more sign-ups for the Advent book she is assembling.

Craig P. reported the Emmaus Walk reunions are now being held in the Fellowship hall every 3rd Tuesday at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend. He also announced a men's group will be forming in January.

Finally, Craig P. reported on the all-parish effort to raise $9,000 to pay Bud Rousset's salary for his work in Towaoc next year. To date $6,000 has been raised.

With regard to planning next year's budget, all requests need to be made to Leonard G. by November 14th. The budget will be discussed at the next Work of the Church session.

The next Work of the Church session will be November 21. (No potluck as that is the night of the soup supper.)

Respectfully submitted,
Dana Petersen
