1) Dan Corcoran presented the Treasurer’s report which indicated that the church was $11,760 better off financially than planned through the month of July. The report was accepted on a voice vote of those present.
2) Mary Ann Ott presented the Trustees’ report. Recently completed improvements include painting the FH steps, repairing and refinishing the ladies’ room, and repainting the nursery. Items yet remaining include cleaning the carpets in the parsonage, church office, and nursery, the installation of vinyl on the parsonage garage, repair and painting of the front FH door, and rototilling and installing sod on the east side of the sanctuary. By voice vote those present approved an attempt to sell the old organ and the purchase of an energy-efficient front door for the parsonage. The existing door is to be retained for possible use as an interior door.
3) Connie Goodell presented the WON team report. An intergenerational Fall Dance will be held 7-10 p.m. on September 17 in the FH. It will have a 50’s theme and will have a soda fountain. No charge will be made for admission.
Margie Russell will check and advise the best date and time for coffee and donuts to be served to the local school teachers, with funding from the Outreach budget.
A service project is planned around noon on September 27 to serve luncheon for the Bible Study members at the Valley Inn.
The next season of Godly Play will be held in six-week sessions from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in the FH, with an after-school snack provided. There will be a break between sessions…exact timing is yet to be determined.
Twice monthly a meal will be served in the FH for parents and children who wish to attend, coordinated by Dana Petersen and funded from the Outreach budget.
Adult ministries will sponsor an intergenerational Games Night on September 10 at 7 p.m. in the FH.
Adult ministries will sponsor a trip to Moab on Labor Day weekend, September 4 th and 5 th. It will include the Canyonlands by Night cruise with dinner for $49.95 per person on Sunday night and the free concert in the park at 2 p.m. Monday (bring lawn chairs). Rooms at the Super 8 motel may be reserved through Connie Goodell for $59 double with two queen-sized beds.
4) Phyllis Johnson presented the PPR committee report. It was approved by voice vote of those present to offer Jen Paschal the part-time employee position of church Activities Director, effective September 1, at a salary of $250 per month. The discussion which preceded the vote specifed that this would entail no required changes to her current activities or time commitment.
5) Phyllis Johnson will post a sign-up sheet for those who volunteered to count the collection after church. This will work like the van driver sign up, such that those who sign up will be responsible for obtaining a substitute in the event that they are unable to attend that Sunday. Pastor Craig asked that the importance of confidentiality be stressed to those who will be performing this task.
6) The next Work of the Church was scheduled for Sunday, October 2.
The meeting was adjourned by Clay Bader.
