Leonard presented a revised budget and explained the changes. Clay stated there is a candidate for the half-time pastoral position but he has requested $5,000 more in salary than what we offered. Discussion ensued regarding how that would impact the budget.
Amy explained this candidate would also pursue a part-time teaching job and that this is generally the trend now in the conference with regard to part-time ministers.
Leonard moved to increase the 2004 budget by $2,500 for the remainder of this year to meet the request of the prospective part-time pastor for $5,000 more in annual salary than what we offered.
Linda seconded.
Discussion ensued. Dee noted the motion ought to show the amount we intend to offer as an annual cash salary.
Leonard added to his motion that the annual salary for a part-time minister will be $19,000.
The motion passed unanimously.
