TREASURER’S REPORT

Dan reported on year-end figures for 2004. Offerings were higher than budgeted for and overall there are no big concerns.

A motion was made and passed to accept the 2004 year-end financial summary.

TRUSTEES

Linda W. reported there is a bad leak in the parsonage. Brad G. is going to look into it. More gravel may be necessary around the parsonage garage. Fellowship Hall door and steps need to be painted. Linda to replace burned out lights in the Fellowship Hall and is also going to investigate the cost of a memorial walk. Dick C. will finish up the shelter over the north door of the Fellowship Hall. Amy W. reported the freezer in the basement of the parsonage doesn’t work. Linda will ask Philip W. to look into it.

WON TEAM

Godly Play will resume Wednesday, February 2. Craig said they are going to change the scheduling a bit and break the group of kids into an early and late group, beginning at 4:30. Dinner will still be at 6:00 and the second group will begin at 6:45.

Craig proposed getting more focused on how we spend our budgeted outreach funds. Suggestions for planned giving included annually allotting money to school supplies, the Christmas giving tree, Godly Play for meals, sending some of our teens to Cedaredge for a youth rally, “West Side Weekend.” The Cortez church is driving a van that our kids could ride in as well.

Amy moved that the church pay $100 for any of our teens who would like to attend the “West Side Weekend.” Jean seconded. The motion carried.

Dee moved that the church match any congregational giving toward the UMCOR tsunami relief effort. Linda seconded. The motion carried. The money will come out of the Community Outreach fund.

Lent begins Wednesday, February 9. An Ash Wednesday service will be held at 6 p.m.
Taize services will be offered Mondays at 5:30 during Lent. The first service will be Monday, February 14. Dana and Dee will coordinate.

PASTOR’S REPORT

Craig sought clarification about our prayer chain and how he should handle putting people’s names in the bulletin. His concern is privacy issues. Dee noted there is not a prayer chain currently in place. The telephone tree is not the same as the prayer chain. Jean B. offered to help Craig coordinate a telephone prayer chain. Dee B. is going to coordinate an e-mail prayer chain.

Craig asked that those who sign up to bring refreshments also help with the cleanup after fellowship time.

Craig is considering a twice a month Sunday evening meeting for teens. Linda S. volunteered to help with that.

Craig will meet with people interested in membership and/or baptism individually rather than hold a class.

The next meeting will be Sunday, February 27.

Meeting adjourned at 11:49.

Respectfully submitted,
Dana Petersen
